INFINITE RECHARGE At Home (Judged Awards)

Required for submission:

  • Two mentor email addresses
  • Time Zone
  • At least one image, up to three. Each must be <= 10MB. gif, jpg, jpeg, png format.
    Can be photo, CAD image, sketches of specific elements, etc.

Optional:

  • Video of robot performing autonomous routine.
    • 720p or better res and format is flv, m4v, mov, mp4, mpeg, mpeg4, mpg, ogm, ogx, swf, or wmv.
    • 3 minutes
  • Flyer about robot
    • 1 page. Max 8.5 x 14"
    • Readable at 100% zoom
    • Format shall be pdf
    • <= 10MB

Skills Challenges

In order for teams to participate in the Skills Challenges, they must participate in the Judged Awards

All Skills Challenges take place on a 15' x 30' field with identified NAV POINTS (ref: pg 14 in At Home Challenges Manual).

Galactic Search Challenge

  • AUTONOMOUS
  • The robot must find and collect POWER CELLS on the field autonomously (Uses three POWER CELLS)
  • Scoring: Team will record run times for each run individually.
  • FIRST will sum total time (count in seconds) for both runs

Summary: Flip a coin to determine RED or BLUE alliance. Run one run on each of path A and B, placing POWER CELLS down for only the corresponding alliance determined in each path. The goal is to enter the End Zone with all three POWER CELLS in the shortest time.

AutoNav Challenge

  • AUTONOMOUS
  • Barrel Racing Path: Navigate around three MARKERS in a barrel-racing pattern to return to the starting point. Robot will autonomously navigate around three MARKERS on the field in the specified direction, then return to the starting zone.
  • Slalom Path: Navigate around six MARKERS
  • Bounce Path: Navigate around nine MARKERS to contact three distinct MARKERS

Summary: In the AutoNav Challenge teams program their ROBOTS to autonomously drive predetermined routes through three different paths as fast as possible. Each time a MARKER is contacted, a 5-second penalty is assigned.

Hyperdrive Challenge

  • TELEOP
  • Barrel Racing Path: Navigate around three MARKERS in a barrel-racing pattern to return to the starting point. Robot will be driven in TELEOP around three MARKERS on the field in the specified direction.
  • Slalom Path: Navigate around six MARKERS in predetermined path and stop in the End Zone.
  • Bounce Path: Navigate around nine MARKERS to contact three distinct MARKERS and stop in the End Zone.
  • Lightspeed Circuit Path: Navigate around 13 MARKERS

Summary: In the Hyperdrive Challenge teams operate their ROBOTS in teleop to drive predetermined routes through three different paths as fast as possible. Each time a MARKER is contacted, a 5-second penalty is assigned.

Interstellar Accuracy Challenge

  • AUTONOMOUS or TELEOP
  • Score as many points as you can in 5 minutes
  • 5 zones: Starting closest to the POWER PORT; Green Zone, Yellow Zone, Blue Zone, Red Zone, and the Re-Introduction Zone (Loading)

Summary: Teams will have the robot, either AUTONOMOUSLY or under TELEOP, score as many of 15 POWER CELLS as possible in the POWER PORT (either physical or 2D) within a five-minute period. The robot may begin with no more than three POWER CELLS in its possession, and may not have control of more than three POWER CELLS at any given time. Teams must begin with the robot in the Green Zone. The robot must return to the Re-Introduction Zone in order to retrieve POWER CELLS in between firing from the different zones.

Three POWER CELLS must be launched from each of the colored zones. The robot must be stationary and completely withing the zone for the shots to count. The last three POWER CELLS may be fired from any zone. The clock starts ticking at first movement from teh robot.

POWER PORT Challenge

  • TELEOP
  • Score as many points as you can in 5 minutes
  • One shooting zone, one loading zone ("Re-Introduction Zone"), one "transit" zone
